The $6.3 million proposal to renovate the River Triangle Buildings has received another financial boost of federal dollars, according to City Manager Steven Dworsky.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Monday approved a $3.6 million low-interest loan to Vulcan Development and Management Corp. of Albany to rehabilitate several buildings along the 200 block of River Street, he said.
On Friday, the company had been awarded about $1.37 million HUD grant for the project, which involved rehabilitating some 70,000 square-feet into retail and office space. "This brings the total allocation up to $4,982,000," Dworsky said.
