Qld: Hendra tests due on second sick horse

Test results will reveal this morning whether a second horse on a Queensland property
has contracted Hendra Virus.

An Anglo filly at the J4S Equine Nursery in Cawarral .. near Rockhampton .. tested
positive to the virus .. after dying from a respiratory breakdown on Saturday.

Another horse on the same property has since fallen sick.

A Queensland Primary Industries and Fisheries spokesman says the results of blood tests
taken from 25 horses still on the property .. and 11 others removed from the property
.. will be known by this morning.

Meanwhile .. four stud workers have begun the second day of an untested treatment that's
hoped will prevent them falling ill with the potentially deadly disease.

Horse stud manager DEBBIE BROWN .. and three others .. have sought treatment at the
Rockhampton Base Hospital.
