High impact performance thermoset system.(MATERIALS)

Propex Fabrics GmbH, Germany, has introduced Curv--a 100% polypropylene (PP) composite, which uses the mechanical properties of highly drawn PP tapes in a matrix of the same material.

In a patented process, high-modulus PP tapes are compacted together to form a self-reinforced, thermoformable sheet that retains a high proportion of the physical properties of the original tapes.

The material has a variety of commercial applications, such as suitcases, sport equipment, automotive parts (interior and exterior) and antiballistic products.
